Alex Lewis was diagnosed with bone cancer when he was 17 years old. Alex had been suffering from pain in his arm for several months. He played a lot of tennis and football, so it was easy to imagine he had pulled some muscles. But the pain did not go away.

By the time he was diagnosed, 6 months later the cancer had already spread to his lungs. He underwent intense chemotherapy and then a bone in his arm (left humerus) was replaced with a metal prosthesis. Despite further surgery and radiotherapy the tumours continued to spread.

Alex's bright future was literally ripped away from him just before his 18th birthday. But despite all his treatment, his extraordinary positivity, humour and love shone out from every part of him. In fact, he was more concerned about the effect his illness would have on all his family and friends… he really was that selfless.

Alex’s life was cut short, passing away on 17th February 2011, just 5 days after his 22nd birthday and wedding to his lovely girlfriend Ali, and with so much to live for. Let’s give our children and young people a better chance to beat this cruel and devastating disease, because if we don’t, too many will lose their fight.

Since 2006, Ability Bow has supported people living with disabilities and complex health conditions, to get fitter through exercise. 

We want the benefits of physical activity to be enjoyed by all, so we provide accessible specialist personal exercise training in our Bow gym and out in the community.

Access Sport is a national charity formed in 2004 on a mission to make inclusion the norm in community sport by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled children and young people.



We believe no one should be excluded from the transformational benefits of community sport.

F4H offers support to service leavers and veterans. Adjustment after leaving a service can require a high level of emotional and physical change, which we can help manage.

Our free 4 day courses are held at Brathay Hall, on the northern tip of Lake Windermere in The Lake District.

Every four hours in the UK someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury; it can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life.

Aspire exists because there is currently no cure. We provide practical help to people who have been paralysed by spinal cord injuries, helping them move from injury to independence.

Specifically, we help unemployed adults secure work and children stay and engage in school. Our beneficiaries are 1000 school pupils each week and 200 adults per year nationally.

Bore Place aims to be a true model of regenerative farming and living. We offer well-established programmes in outdoor learning for young people of all abilities, working predominantly with young people who experience barriers to learning. We believe in a world where people and nature work together to regenerate the planet and ourselves.

Our programmes are focused on improving wellbeing, as well as developing skills, awareness, and confidence to make positive choices that impact the wider world. We offer accredited education courses, holiday and weekend clubs, school trips and volunteering programmes as well as a programme of community events. We also manage and farm a 500-acre organic estate open all year around to the public where we share our model of regenerative farming.

The Atlas Foundation exists to help deprived children work towards a better future through rugby communities. The funds raised from the Sporting Chance Prize Draw will benefit our project in the UK, Tackle London.

Tackle London was established to make a tangible, constructive difference to the lives of 6 to 24-year-old Londoners who face disproportionate challenges. We work with schools and rugby clubs, in communities affected by increased levels of poverty, neglect and social disadvantage, to facilitate access to our own brand of sports mentoring: regular and ongoing engagement with trusted, reliable adults.

Providing children with a chance to thrive.

Sports for Schools is a social enterprise with a mission to help encourage school children to increase their levels of physical activity. We believe in the importance of physical activity in developing the brain and in turn, improving academic performance.


To date, we have helped to inspire over 2.5 million children and raised over £4.7 million for schools to use to promote physical activity and wellness amongst their pupils and staff.

Every week in the UK, at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die suddenly and unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition.

CRY's goal is to provide access to cardiac screening for all young people aged 14-35 to identify these conditions while funding medical research to prevent even more people in the UK from dying of an undiagnosed heart condition.

The ClementJames Centre is an award-winning charity based in North Kensington that empowers the community to release its potential through education, employment and wellbeing support in one of London’s most deprived areas. Our vision is for everyone in our community to release their potential and live fulfilled lives. 



We achieve this through the delivery of our four aligned programmes: Employment Support, Children and Young People’s Education, Adult Learning and Wellbeing and Support. 

The ClementJames Centre has become a safe space for many of our service users, with one of our clients describing us as their ‘family’. We seek to offer our service users a place where they can come to receive compassionate support alongside help with practical aspects of their lives. Our support has been particularly important following the Grenfell Tower fire and throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue to be essential to support our community in the aftermath of this.

Dallaglio RugbyWorks

The Clink Charity breaks the cycle of crime by changing attitudes both inside and outside of the prison, creating second chances and transforming lives whilst reducing reoffending rates for the benefit of society as a whole.

The prisoner students at each of The Clink Restaurants and other Clink training projects volunteer to be trained to gain their City & Guilds National Vocational Qualifications and benefit from the mentoring scheme in 32 training projects operating across the country.

Changing attitudes, transforming lives and creating second chances.

Honeypot is the only UK charity to provide a consistent level of support for young carers aged 5-12 years. We give young carers a break from demanding, stressful responsibilities at home and provide a safe, nurturing environment at our respite houses where they can develop to their full potential.

Also we do educational breaks to help children become more confident learners in the classroom, and our Wrap-Round service targets social, emotional and financial needs of young carers through virtual workshops, an online learning programme and a wellbeing fund.
